New Colombian Facility
EPC, a subsidiary of CSI Leasing and a provider of ITAD services, has now established a new facility in Colombia’s capital city. This marks the fourth location within Latin America for EPC’s operations.
On May 16, EPC opened its 8,000-square-foot Bogotá ITAD facility which is capable of handling 2,000 IT assets each month. The press release reported that five professionals are presently employed; however, more are expected to come on board when demand rises.
“Having a facility in Colombia will allow us to provide CSI’s customers with a consistent end-of-lease experience, along with comprehensive ITAD services, including standardized equipment processing, reporting, data sanitization and proper recycling,” Andean region services and remarketing manager, Ivan Herrera stated in the release. “Our main goal is to accelerate CSI’s growth in the Andean region, further solidifying both CSI and EPC’s vast global footprint.”
Located in St. Charles, Missouri, EPC currently operates out of three international facilities: Mexico City, San Jose (Costa Rica), and Lima (Peru).
It has been announced that Herrera will now head up EPC Andina, which is comprised of Colombia and Peru operations. Herrera’s expertise in ITAD services and remarketing for CSI Leasing subsidiaries throughout the area has been growing steadily over his past eight years with the organization.
For many years, the group has focused on expansion, with new CSI-owned sites being opened readily.
EPC Opens St. Peters, Missouri Site
In early 2022, EPC opened an innovative technology and redeployment center near its corporate headquarters located in St. Peters, Missouri. By taking advantage of refurbished electronics, this new addition would help companies navigate the tumultuous supply that had been caused by the pandemic.
Nestled in Missouri, just a brief drive from CSI Leasing’s corporate headquarters, is the expansive 47,000-square-foot Technology and Redeployment Center which is owned completely by EPC.
Speaking to E-Scrap News, CEO and President of EPC, Pat Laughlin, affirmed that the primary purpose of the new structure will be “working with our customers on their needs when it comes to redeployment and reuse of their equipment.”
“We’ve seen over the pandemic, over the last year and a half, customers are having a difficult time acquiring new products, new equipment,” he said. “One of the things that came up over the last six months or so is the need for our corporate customers to reuse their existing equipment.”
Client Feedback Taken into Consideration
EPC has made a strategic decision to expand its existing offerings after taking into consideration feedback from valuable clients by recognizing its great potential in further amplifying its customer base. As a result, the firm will open its site to “take in that equipment, clean it, sanitize it, store it on their behalf and then they can reuse it when needed.”
With a growing requirement for ITAD services, several businesses are capitalizing on this opportunity by now providing sanitizing, storage, and redeployment services. Sims Lifecycle Services is among such companies, having set up three specialized centers tailored for electronics used within data centers, notably: Atlanta, La Vergne (Tennessee), and Chicago.
Laughlin also stated that at first, EPC’s cutting-edge facility would be geared towards handling between five thousand to ten thousand items per month.
A Focus on Expansion
Undergoing significant growth, EPC has invested heavily in expansion over the last few years. 2021 saw the opening of its Peru facility, and prior to this, the firms Canadian subsidiary’s Edmonton location moved into a larger space in Vancouver earlier this year.
In 2019, the organization made a big leap forward and acquired even more spaces across the US. A larger facility was established within Pennsylvania, and EPC opened a further location within Atlanta. Additionally, 2019 saw the first installation of its Vancouver plant.
“Over the years, we have been increasing our global footprint in conjunction with customer demand,” Dan Fuller, EPC’s presided stated in a press release. “Organizations around the world understand the need for proper ITAD. Data security and sustainability are not defined by borders, and neither are EPC’s services.”
