ERI Releases Optech Capture System

Optech Capture has been created by ERI to provide a completely transparent, tracked chain of custody from beginning to end.

Optech Capture System

ERI, a leading provider of integrated information technology and electronics asset disposition (ITAD) services based in Fresno, California has recently unveiled its advanced Optech Capture System. This internal proprietary platform is said to offer comprehensive control of assets from start to completion during the ITAD process.

John Shegerian, chairman and CEO of ERI explains, “In the ITAD industry, a complete and detailed chain of custody is critical for proper data security and tracking”. “We are taking our Optech platform that was already best-in-class and adding a new tool that takes it to a whole new level of excellence. Optech Capture ensures that the chain of custody starts and ends with ERI when it comes to protecting customer data.”

The Process

The Optech Capture service is designed to sustain a complete, traceable chain of custody for all IT equipment. The process begins with scanning the assets during collection, then securely tracks the items throughout the entire ITAD process. This technology is available on mobile devices, and is currently used by both ERI’s field technicians and freight carriers when visiting customer sites.

Powered by ERI’s security orchestration, automation and response features, Optech Capture gives employees the ability to compile an extensive list of items being picked up, supported by images taken at the customer location. The system then provides a signature-included receipt for confirmation when everything has been collected from the site.

ERI’s Optech is a digital ITAD portal that offers real-time visibility into customer accounts, revealing asset details from acceptance through final disposition. The platform has been designed to be flexible and customizable, enabling organizations of all sizes and sectors to effectively monitor data-bearing and non-data-bearing assets. According to ERI, clients can access the portal securely at any time, as well as export data on demand, run asset reports, and order services.

ERI Achieves Carbon-Neutral Status

Last year, ERI created a goal to achieve carbon-neutrality. To accomplish this plan, the company partnered with New York-based Time CO2 and its CO2.com platform. Equipped with a team of climate experts from esteemed organizations such as the World Economic Forum, Conservation International, The World Bank, Salesforce, Twitter, Amazon, Yelp, and Time itself.

During the fall 2022, ERI worked closely with CO2 to create a diversified portfolio of high-impact climate action projects which were carefully vetted for commitment to carbon neutrality.

“We’re incredibly proud to have voluntarily taken this critical next step in our ongoing mission to protect the planet,” John Shegerian shares. “As a company that has had waste and emissions reduction in its very DNA since our start, and as ERI assists other organizations to achieve their ESG and sustainability goals through responsible recycling of e-waste, we felt it was essential for us to undergo the process of achieving official carbon neutrality to further enhance our own operational environmental impact.”

ERI has attained total carbon neutrality for all of its operational emissions across the United States. Additionally, the company has been awarded an overall “A” rating by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Circulytics tool, which evaluates progress towards a circular economy.

ERI continues to lead the way in the IT asset disposition sector, constantly evolving to become more sustainable and better serve its vast clientele.
